GLO CPAs is looking to fill an immediate full-time position for a Staff Accountant that is able to prepare complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including consolidated and non-consolidated C-corps, S-corps, Partnerships, Fiduciary and Non-Profit Organizations. An immediate full-time position for a Staff Accountant that is able to prepare complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including consolidated and non-consolidated C-corps, S-corps, Partnerships, Fiduciary and Non-Profit Organizations. Staff Accountant Responsibilities

  • Prepares U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, trust, franchise and estate tax returns.
  • Prepares payroll tax reports.
  • Prepares Compiled financial statements for Corporations, Partnerships, and Individuals.
  • Prepares monthly accounting for preparation of financial statements for individuals, partnerships and Corporations.
  • Prepares tax planning projections for individual and corporate estimated tax liability.
  • Performs less complex tax research projects.
  • Discuss client matters with IRS and other taxing authorities in response to tax notices.
  • Delegatesโ€™ projects to staff that can handle them most efficiently and provide accounting and tax assistance to staff as needed.
  • Gains expertise in all tax software programs, including UltraTax and QuickBooks.
  • Communicates directly with Clients and develops relationships through business and social meetings.
  • Through acquired expertise, performs as a resource in designated areas for tax questions and issues from both tax and Audit staff.
  • Meets with prospective clients and cultivates prospects through referral sources.
  • Assists with tax administration projects assigned by managers and partners.
  • Participates in firm committees as a tax member.
  • Prepares monthly accounting for preparation of financial statements for individuals, partnerships and Corporations

Required Education & Experience

  • Must have at least one year of Public Accounting experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting or other major with tax and accounting (through intermediate) course work completed.
  • Is a CPA or is working toward obtaining CPA designation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

An experienced Tax Senior that is able to prepare complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including consolidated and non-consolidated C-corps, S-corps, Partnerships, Fiduciary and Non-Profit Organizations. You will use your expertise assume full responsibility for less complex business and individual clients.

  • Prepares complex U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns.
  • Prepares Compiled financial statements for Corporations, Partnerships, and Individuals.
  • Prepares and reviews the most complex client working trial balance from source documents and bank statement reconciliations.
  • Prepares tax planning projections for individual and corporate estimated tax liability.
  • Assumes complete responsibility for less complex business and individual clients.
  • Performs less complex tax research projects.
  • Discuss client matters with IRS and other taxing authorities in response to tax notices.
  • Delegatesโ€™ projects to staff that can handle them most efficiently and provide accounting and tax assistance to staff as needed.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting or other major with tax and accounting (through intermediate) course work completed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Proficient and working understanding in QuickBooks.

Preferred Education & Experience

CPA license highly preferred

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing the Tax Staff and maintaining appropriate professionalism in client and team interactions. The Tax Manager will complete, supervise and review multiple projects and client assignments reviewing complex tax returns including Corporate, Partnership, LLC, Individual, Trust, Estate and Gift returns. Prioritize and manage multiple engagements within given time frames and budget parameters.

  • Ability to plan, organize, control and lead assigned staff
  • Minimum five plus years of Public Accounting experience supervisory experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the tax issues facing multinational U.S. companies, especially in the areas of tax compliance and consulting services with the goal of tax minimization.
  • Experience reviewing corporate returns, flow through entities, multi-state and individual tax returns along with FAS 109 and FIN 48.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ensure that deliverables and work papers produced by team members are clear, concise, well written, and in conformity with firm standards and professional requirements.
  • Participate and meet with clients for interviews and planning meetings.
  • Schedule seniors and staff workloads, manage client backlogs.
  • Actively participates in leadership roles in professional and community organizations.
  • Assist with recruiting activities to include campus recruiting along with referring experienced individuals to the firm.
  • Participates in development of departmental training, methodology and tools.
